After installing DataScrap Studio, a few initial setup steps will help you get the most out of the application. This guide walks you through the essential configuration options and preferences to optimize your experience.

Initial Launch

When you first launch DataScrap Studio, you’ll be greeted with a welcome screen that offers several options:

1. Start a new project: Jump right into creating your first scraping project
2. Take a tour: Get a guided walkthrough of the main features
3. Import existing project: Load a previously exported project
4. Explore sample projects: Learn from pre-built examples

Essential Configuration

Performance Settings

To optimize DataScrap Studio for your system:

1. Go to Settings > Performance
2. Adjust the following based on your computer’s capabilities:
   • Memory allocation: Set between 25-50% of your available RAM
   • Concurrent processes: Start with 2-4 for most systems
   • Disk cache size: 1-2GB is recommended for regular use

Browser Integration

DataScrap Studio uses a built-in browser for web scraping. Configure it for optimal performance:

1. Go to Settings > Browser
2. Configure the following options:
   • User agent: Set to mimic your preferred browser or use the default
   • JavaScript rendering: Enable for modern websites (recommended)
